Mala is the name of Mark Lawrence, a London dubstep producer and DJ who grew up in South Norwood. He is a founding member of the DMZ crew. His 2006 track Anti War Dub ranked second in Resident Advisor's Favourite Music of the Century vote in 2025. His records have come out on Deep Medi Musik, DMZ and Brownswood Recordings.

The venue
Berlin's best-known techno club, open since 2004 in a former power station between Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg. RA bills it as "Berghain | Panorama Bar | Säule"; ICYMI treats those rooms as one venue. DJ Mag placed it 16th in its 2025 club poll and 21st in 2026.
The entrance is at ground level and a lift links all floors when staff accompany you. Low-barrier toilets are available on request. Guests who cannot queue may ask at the door with a severe-disability pass (50% or more); a companion marked "B" on the pass enters free. The club says entry is guaranteed for no one.
