First Singapore show on RA's listings
The alias Special Request belongs to Paul Woolford, a Leeds-born DJ and producer working in house, techno, breakbeat and speed garage. The project has been active since 2012 and takes its raw energy from UK pirate radio, which Woolford has described as a rowdier counterpart to his work under his own name. It is also the name of a vinyl imprint.
Show history from Resident Advisor.
The venue
A low-ceilinged second-floor event space in the TPI Building on Cecil Street. It opens for individual promoter nights and concerts rather than as a nightly club; Thugshop runs many of its parties.
