Get to know the artist

Silva Bumpa draws on Sheffield's bassline culture, joining UK garage and speed garage with strong vocal hooks. Early interests in Aphex Twin, Arca and Mura Masa preceded a teenage immersion in raves and jacking house. His records connect those influences with the direct, participatory appeal of club songs.

Sound and roots

The musical reference point is mid-2000s bassline, carried forward through bass-heavy production and songwriting. Garage is a useful starting label, but the links to house and Sheffield's local dance culture add more context.
