American minimal techno musician
Robert Hood
Get to know the artist
Robert Hood is a Detroit producer whose economical, rhythm-led work helped define minimal techno. An early Underground Resistance member and founder of M-Plant, he also explores house through Floorplan and abstract electronic music as Monobox.

Minimal Nation and Internal Empire are starting points for his 1994 techno work. Nighttime World explores another side of his albums, while Floorplan brings disco and gospel influences into house music.
- Floorplan
Floorplan began as his house alias and expanded into a duo with his daughter Lyric Hood on Victorious in 2016. A Floorplan booking and a Robert Hood booking should therefore not be treated as interchangeable.
