British house and techno DJ producer
Carl Cox
Get to know the artist
Carl Cox connects the UK acid-house explosion with decades of techno DJing. His story is rooted in selecting and mixing records, from mobile discos to three-deck rave sets, rather than one crossover hit.
- Sound and roots
His official biography traces a route through disco, rare groove, hip-hop and electro into house and techno. Those roots explain why a simple techno tag tells only part of the story.
- Start exploring
The 1995 F.A.C.T mix is a historical entry point. Intec is the label trail for his techno work; Awesome Soundwave, founded with Christopher Coe, focuses on artists performing their own electronic music live.
